Man Fallen FDNY Firefighter Tried Saving: 'He's My Hero'
Travis Simms was trapped in his car when firefighter Steven Pollard fell to his death trying to jump the gap on a Brooklyn bridge in an attempt to reach Simms.
"He risked his life to save mine," the correctional officer told WCBS-TV. "He made the ultimate sacrifice."
"He's definitely my hero, may he rest in peace," Simms added.
